GO JACKETS!!!
I have always been a big Georgia Tech fan and now that Paul Johnson is the Head Coach, Stephen has come over to greener pastures! A little history to explain ~ Stephen received a full athletic scholarship in 1987 to play football for Georgia Southern and his coach was Paul Johnson. He will always be an Eagle deep down but now that Coach Johnson has moved to a Division 1 school he was thrilled beyond belief, thus the transition to the Jackets over those Dawgs. Wise choice if you ask a Jacket! Anyway, we have wanted to go to a home game all season but couldn't find tickets for the right day and an early game too so we could take Addison with us. Finally we land some tickets and boy we hit the mother load! Our friends Karl and Dee gave us 2 tickets to a Saturday 3:30 game with a priority parking pass, box seats, free appetizers, drinks and did I mention the box? It was awesome! I had packed Addison's bag with all these "keep her busy toys" and brought snacks galore but really she needed none of it. We parked right beside the stadium, took the long 20 yard walk to the Luxury box entrance where we had a sit-down dinning room, private bathrooms, drinks and any pre-game appetizer you could imagine! SWEET!! We ate a few snacks watched a few minutes of the game on the Jumbo TV in the dining room, then walked out onto our "terrace level" padded seats. My tooshy never felt so comfy at a football game before and I must admit it was starting to like it new digs. During the 2nd quarter the appetizer were exchanged for a full buffet line! Dear Lord there was food everywhere, we had desserts that made us feel like we were in the Willy Wonka factory. YUM-O! Of course we ate again, then during half time (by the way it was also homecoming) a staff member brought Stephen a copy of the "half time stats" WHAT?? Addison loved the half time show, the bands and all the special homecoming festivities and the cheerleaders kept her eyes glued to the field the entire half hour. In the second half she even picked up on the "Go Jackets......Go Jackets......Go Jackets" and she would laugh every time someone near us would say it too. I guess she thought she started this trend. The game itself was a nail biter and ended up in over-time for the Jackets to win over the Deacons 30-27! Goooo Jackets! And by the way did I mention these were Mr. Jimmy Dellinger's tickets? Awesome! I told Stephen the only problem with taking Addison to her first college football game in style is that now she thinks all games come with close parking, clean private potty's, yummy free food and drinks, cushy seats and all the room to play with your Barbies and ponies that you could ever need! Poor girl she has a rough rode ahead :)
