Well.... ain't we crafty!

Addison and I love love love to craft. Well, actually I love to craft and she just likes to do anything that resembles coloring or stickers. She is proving to be an excellent simple instruction follower too. Today we constructed a Fire Engine gift tag for my great-nephew Eli's fireman themed party. These foam gift tags are east to make a she thinks they are really something. All the pieces are pre-cutt so we simply have to put the puzzle together then glue it. Easy enough! She knew this was for Eli and she kept asking "truck for Ali?"

Manic Monday

Addison and I ran a lot of errands today and to make the day a little more fun for her I allowed her to take "baby"! I found her this really cute baby carrier back-pack at a toy store in Gatlinburg last fall and it is starting to come in really handy. I really don't mind if she takes her baby everywhere we go but I just don't need the "extra" responsibility. She is still a little young to watch out for baby so this little back-pack is just the ticket!

Chattanooga for the afternoon

Today Stephen, Addison and I drove up to Chattanooga to drop Stephen's Trials Bike off to be sold! A trials bike is a strange motorcycle that has no seat and is bascially used for agility stuff. They climb rocks, stumps, up hill-sides and back down. They are neat to watch and he has really enjoyed having this but just doesn't have the time to ride it anymore or the space. The closest place to ride is around Chattanooga and he doesn't enjoy driving all the way up there alone, the riding alone for a few hours then driving back home alone. He has 2 other dirt-bikes that he can ride in town with friends and not waste the entire day being away from Addison and I. So off to Chattanooga we went~ we went straight to the TTC to leave the bike a let Addison get out and stretch her legs and Stephen let her climb on all the obstacles and run around looking for frogs. We saw a tiny frog when we got there so she thought she could find more if she kept calling "foggy". After we played for awhile we headed into town to eat at one of our favorite restaurants "Sticky Fingers" and then head home. It was a fun slow paced morning and Addison had a great nap on the way home too!

Rome Braves!

We love the Rome Braves! Actually we pretty much like all sports! We attend a lot of sporting events and Addison goes right along too. In the fall we watch too much football and go to a good many high school games and try to catch most of the CHS baseball in the spring. We don't really know any of the kids playing personally but we just like to watch and since I have a GHSA Coaches pass all the games are free for us so we take advantage and go! When we first started dating we would try to go to a Atlanta Braves game at least once every 2 months but the driving home late during the week got old and then....... the Rome Braves came! We love it! It is a really fun atmosphere and all the seats are great and cheap. We usually hit the Fuddruckers aross the street for dinner the over to the game we go. Addison loves all the music they play for each player and all the funny little side-show games they do in between innings. She thinks it's all for her. This game was really exciting the Braves were losing until the 7th inning and then they just went wild, 2 back-to-back doubles and then a guy hit deep in the outfield to tie the game and we scored the winning run in the 8th! Hot-Dog Addison says!

Imagine IT!

~ Addison and I decided we would like to visit the Imagine It Museum today and invited Emma Grace and Melanie to come along too! We left out around 9:00 with hopes of hitting the doors when they opened at 10:00! Not so much! About 2 exits away from our destination Melanie says "Uhh Ohh! I don't think Emma Grace has shoes!" WHAT??? She had put them on her when they left the house but she always takes them off in the car and because we put everything in my car (minus the shoes) she was barefoot! We quickly used Melanies GPS on her phone and of course located the nearest Target. Luckily for us it was one street over from IKEA so it wasn't that major of a detour. We parked, went inside, bought shoes and headed back on the journey! The girls loved the museum! They ran around and touched everything. The farmers market and grocery baskets were a big hit! They played in the trees, the little house and slid down the banana about 1,000 times. Then we found the toddler area and they really flipped out. What! A whole place of our own? They were running and squealing like they were really getting away with something big. Too funny! After our fun-filled play time we walked across Centenial Park and ate lunch in the CNN Center food court. They girls had a fun-filled day and Addison quickly crashed in the car on the way home but Emma Grace held strong til' about 20 mins from home.

Isn't she lovely

Addison LOVES baby dolls! Have I mentioned that before? Loves them! She doesn't care what kind of doll either. It can be big, little, long hair, no hair, curly hair, boy, girl, hard, stuffed, makes noise, doesn't make noise, etc..... She is not picky! It only has to be open to being loved. Sometimes tough loved! She got this Cabbage Patch figure baby in a kids meal a loves to brush her hair with the little plastic blue FORK! Or a dinglehopper if you will. She has little brushes for babies but no, no it has to be done with the fork. Poor little baby, but she takes it like a trooper and is always ready for her day of spa treatment with the Stylish Miss Addison

I can do it.....

This morning was rainy and grey so we couldn't go outside and do our usual sliding and rakeing so, I had to find an indoor activity for us. Addison loves baby dolls. Since she could hold something in her hand it has been a doll. At this age now she likes to take their clothes off and usually she can get them back on with minimal help but today I thought we should try to diaper "Patrick Thomas". He is an old Cabbage Patch that belonged to one of my childhood neighbors who only has boys so she donated this baby to Addison. She loves him! Her GiGi gave her a girl Cabbage Patch for Christmas that she sleeps with (her name is Torrie) but Patrick Thomas is for play. She takes him outside and down her slide and sometimes he eats rocks! Poor Patrick Thomas! At least he is well loved and it isn't anything a quick trip to the washing machine can't fix! She was all about the challenge of the diaper. She told me more than once "I can do it mommy" so I sat back and gave a few verbal instructions but wasn't allowed any hands-on time. She did a really good job and for the most part the diaper will stay on. It is a lot tighter on one hip but he doesn't seem to mind at all.

YAY! Patrick Thomas is ready for more fun

Happy 78th Birthday MawMaw

Today is Maw Maw's Birthday! Actually it's Addisons great-Maw Maw and she loves her very much! I think Maw-Maw was one of the first 10 words she said. She draws it out very long "Mawwwww Mawwwww" it's hilarious! She has a lot in common with MawMaw, they both love baby dolls, walking outside and sitting on the porch. I have always joked that I am the favorite grandchild (I really am!) and now of course Addison is the favorite great-grandchild.
She really loves to be around Maw Maw and I thought this would be the perfect craft for her to make. She worked really hard and every time Stephen or I would say something about putting the stones here or there she would instantly say "Noooooo its Mawwwww Mawwwws"! Happy Birthday Maw Maw we love you very much!

Cinderella, Cinderella night and day......

I am no wicked step-mother but I do have my very own Cinderella! At this age she loves to do chores. Any time you ask her she will take something to the trash, bring you her shoes, and even swiffer! The girl LOVES to swiffer! I have to swiffer at least once a day because of Noel's hair and she will beg me to do it. She says "I mop"! After I swiffer up all the hair I always let her go over it again. Sometimes, she actually gets things that I've missed. I wanted to video this today for proof so that when she is older and refuses to clean up anything I can show her how much fun it use to be for her. Like that will matter to a teenager :)

Find a froggy pick it up and all day long you'll have good luck!

My little Ellie Mae Clampit! After church on Sundays Addison's GiGi (Gloria Moody) gives her a sparkly green froggie sticker that usually ends up stuck to something in my car. So now all frogs all stickers........ even real ones! We found this little hopper in our back-yard lastnight and me being a closet Vet-Tech, I point it out to her and say "Look at the little froggie -- he's hopping all around -- ribbit, ribbit" and she looks at him for a second with the big brown doe eyes and says...... "Ahhh Weee mommy! STICKER!!!" and grabs him up with cat like speed and sticks him to her shirt! Priceless! What I would give to have been video camera ready. I made her stand still and I ran inside to grab my camera so this is all I could get to remember "The Day the froggie has a small stroke"
