Rockin' New Years Wii 2009

Stephen and I decided several years ago that we are NOT the "rock in the new year" people. Some people are and that cool too but we just aren't. We prefer to stay in eat appetizer snacks for dinner and watch movies. This year however we decided to mix it up a little and have a quick dinner at Fuddruckers then his oldest niece - Rose Marie came over to break in our new Wii. It really was a lot of fun. Addison thought she was doing something really special since she had had her bath and was already wearing her jammies and we were letting her play a little pass bed time - WOW! I like new years she said. And every so often she would say "Happy New Birthday to you"! Oh well, close enough

A bond has formed

Noel was our first born that came into our new little family in April 2003. She was the center of our universe until......... February 2008 when this little peach colored, crying thingy joined our lives. While Addison adores her and loves to kiss her good-bye and good night every day the jury is still out wether or not Noel is very fond of her. She has never, not even once attempted to be aggressive toward Addison she just simply acts as if she doesn't exist. Until today! Noel LOVES LOVES LOVES to have her booty scratched and will instantly become a huge fan of the booty scratcher. So today we were getting ready to leave the house to run a few pre-New Years Eve errands and Addison walks over to Noel and says "Bye Boo (our pet name for her) I love you and I scatch you booty for you" you should have seen Noel's face. It was as if she had finally realized the reason we brought this tiny little person home nearly 2 years ago, and now she had fallen in place to do her life-long duty..... scratch the booty! I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship and deep appreciation of each other :)

Like Mommy like daughter

Addison loves to be like Mommy! She loves to put on make-up have her toe nails painted/trimmed and now she wants curls in her hair. This morning I was curling my hair as she sat on our vanity applying her "fake-up" (aka make-up) she looked at me and said "Mommy do Addison's hairs too" so I did! Her hair has never been cutt and is getting very long so I figure I will continue to let it grow until it starts to grow uneven or until my current hair-styling do's don't work any longer to keep the hair out of her eyes. But up until today I have never curled it, never even thought about it really. She is suppose to be a Flower Girl in an October wedding so I shall keep the curls in mind for a fancy do!

The Cline Exchange!

My friend Katie Cline and I have been friends since the 10th grade. We did everything together in high school, were college roommates, and even lived in 2 different apartments together here in Cartersville after Graduation until Katie got married in May 2001. With her marriage she inherited a 4 year old daughter named Tiffany and then together they had a son - Jacob in 2002. Eventhough our children have a huge age gap they still love to get together and play. I think it makes Tiffany who is now 12 and Jacob 6 feel special for Addison to always welcome them to play. She loves to show Tiffany "EVERY" toy she has and she loves the fact that Jacob will do anything to make her laugh (even self-mutilation) silly boys! We let the kids exchange gifts every year and we get to sit back and watch the fun. Tiffany is a HUGE Twilight fan so Addison gave her the Edward Collector Barbie which she instantly fell in love with and Jacob like any other boy got a set of Transformers that he instantly ripped from the package and started playing with. From the Clines Addison received a poseable Strawberry Shortcake with DVD, a set of Jungle in My Pocket animals (her newest loves), a Santa Mr. Potato Head, a flexy Cinderella doll, and several coloring books and sticker books too! Needless to say all the kids came out on top! While they were here I had Tiffany set-up my new Wii Fit (she is a self proclaimed Wii master -- We'll see!) All in all the afternoon was a great success and I looked forward to many more years of friendship and gift exchange too!

Hellicopter Fun!!

Stephen is a huge fan of R/C toys! He particularly loves the planes and hellicopters and over the past couple of years has gotten quite good at them and buily himself a nice collection too. Tonight he decided he would WOW Addison with his aviatar skills. She was slightly unimpressed and little scared of the little low flying object.

It's Gingerbread time in the city

Chick-fil-A has an awesome Christmas calendar of events scheduled for December and so far we have participated in 2 of them. Tonight we decorated a gingerbread cookie with Addison's cousin Rose Marie. She had a lot of fun and even shared a few of the decorating treats with the cookie and Rose Marie but, she really just wanted to paint him with icing and eat the decorations herself. Except the spice drops ~ she doesn't like those!

The Polar Express

This was our first ride on the Polar Express and it was fantastic! Definitely a great way to jump right into the Christmas Spirit and Addison loved everything about it, until......Santa got on board. You board the train at the depot, take a fun-filled ride to the North Pole and pick up Santa then, each kid gets to sit and talk with him and take photos. Not Addison! No-way No-how! About half way to the North Pole she turns to Stephen and says "No Santa! Ok Daddy?" Oopsy! Oh well, all the rest of the trip was great and she really got into singing the carols with all the elves of course the gingerbread cookie and YooHoo was a high-point too!
